Kanger Protank 3
The Kanger Protank 3 is a go-to clearomizer for all of your performance vaping needs. The Protank 3 features the latest in bottom coil technology for a reliable wicking action, as well as a great throat hit and excellent flavor. The Protank 3’s sleek, stainless steel finish and clear, pyrex glass tank make for an attractive addition to any 510-compatible vaporizer setup.
The Kanger Protank 3 features a 510-size bottom base and an included chrome-plated drip tip, with a top connection ring that accepts 510-size tips. The heating element on the Protank 3 introduces double coils; this expands the heating surface, providing excellent vapor production plus a robust and flavorful throat hit. The bottom coil design cuts down on wicking problems associated with previous clearomizers, providing a reliable exposure of juice to the coils. Just in case you need to replace the glass tank, the glue-free Protank 3 can easily be disassembled.
Why a Clearomizer?
A clearomizer features a simple and convenient design: the cartridge is combined with the atomizer in a single, replaceable unit. The clearomizer’s glass tank not only provides an easy read of e-Juice levels, but protects against damage caused by sour, acidic, and cinnamon-based flavors. Plus, the coils in the atomizer serve as an excellent heating element to vaporize the juice.
Clearomizers can typically hold a large amount of e-Juice; the Kanger Protank 3 holds up to 2.5mL inside its tank, so you have plenty of hits before the tank is emptied. If you need to refill the clearomizer, all you have to do is remove the unit from the battery, remove the mouthpiece, and refill. The same goes if you need to replace the clearomizer: the atomizer and cartridge are contained in one convenient package.
When refilling your Kanger Protank 3, take care not to get e-Juice into the metal tube at the center, otherwise you may experience a gurgling or leaking noise when you vape. If this does happen, you can remove juice from the center tube without emptying the tank; just detach the clearomizer from the battery, then put it on a paper towel (upside-down) to let the liquid drain. Then wrap a paper towel around the battery end and blow through the mouthpiece to take care of the rest of the liquid.
You may experience leaks if you let the tank drop below 1/3 of e-Juice capacity. Keeping the tank full helps to prevent this. You may also see leaks as the atomizer head wears out, which typically has an average lifespan of 10 – 20 days. Replacing the atomizer head should take care of any related leaks. You may find some liquid on the battery when you remove the clearomizer, but this is normal; all you have to do is clean the battery before you charge.
When you unscrew the tube or base, take care that the atomizer head doesn’t come loose. Make sure to tighten the atomizer every time you reassemble the components.

Experiencing leaking or a gurgling noise?
This is a sign that liquid has found its way into the metal tube in the center of the Clearomizer (and usually occurs after a refill). Ridding the center tube of liquid will resolve the issue. To do so without emptying the tank, remove the Clearomizer from the battery, and let it sit upside down for about 1 minute on a paper towel or cloth to allow some of the excess E-Liquid in the center to drain. Next, hold the Clearomizer upside down (mouthpiece facing down and the threaded side is facing up) and wrap a cloth or tissue around the battery end of the Clearomizer then, blow through the mouthpiece and any excess E-Liquid from the center should come out the threaded side.
The atomizer head of the Protank can also unfasten unintentionally when unscrewing the tube or base. Always make sure the atomizer head is tightened and screwed all the way in before reinstalling the base of the Protank.
Please note that it is normal to find a small amount of liquid in the battery contact area when removing the Clearomizer or any Atomizer. We recommend cleaning the battery before charging it.
When possible, keep the tank full and never below 1/3 full of eLiquid. This helps maintain the 'vacuum' in the tank and prevent leaks. Atomizer heads generally have an average lifespan between 10 to 20 days however, the results can vary depending on various factors. When the atomizer head wears down, it may begin to leak. Replace the atomizer head with a new one if available.

Dual coil gives me more vapor which is a plus for me. Glass tank is good. Metal mouthpiece is a nice touch. For other shoppers, note that this tank accepts both short stem and long stem coil heads. Works fine with 1.5Ω heads. Coils last me about a week at about 2 bucks a coil. Paired this tank with the Vision Spinner 2.

I bought 3 of these in March and decided to write my review on these after a month of use. Arrive nicely packed with 2 heads (One to use, one for spare). After cleaning the unit with hot water and then installing one of the heads I used some of my go to juice (Flavorz RY4+4) I use this to test all my tanks as I use this flavor the most. Tested on my Provari, Tesla, Evic, E-LVT and my Mech mod. No problems with connections or anything being loose. Good flavor to start with but as time went on started with some dry hits. I decided to let the unit sit overnight and try again the next day (Maybe the wicks need to soak a little more - I'm used to this from the carto tank days) The next day I started off without a problem good flavor - decent draw and was working well. Few hours into the day I start with the dry hits again. Did some no power pulls to see if I could get some air out of the system which I did and kept going. As the days progress it seemed like I had to do this much more, along with more and more burnt taste (Probably from the dry hits) I replaced the head with the spare that was included in the box and everything came back to normal. But eventually (around 2 days) the same issues came back. This is a 50/50 Ejuice mix and I have no issues on some of my other tanks from different manufacturers - weird. Overall I like the looks of the tanks, but the performance that I experienced I will not be buying anymore kangers. This is just me as I am know to chain vape at times but the heads could be a little better. I have also tried the adjustable base from the aerotank trying to see if reducing some of the draw will help with the feeding but it has not helped. Wanted to add that in there!

I gave this 4 stars only because the newer Kanger Aerotank (which is similar) has a slightly better design.
If you're familiar with other Kanger tanks and clearos then you already know the basic design - they all work pretty much the same way. This one takes it to the next level. The combination of Kangers bottom coil design with dual coils makes for outstanding performance. Great clouds of vapor with excellent throat hit without being overheated.
It can leak a little onto the battery - as nearly all tanks or clearos do. As long as everything is seated and screwed in properly there should be little to no leakage other than a tiny droplet on the battery itself.
There can be occasional flooding or gurgling depending on your vaping technique. I've found with all the Kanger tanks that if you let it cook a second or two before you draw, and if you hold it at an angle (or even sideways) rather than straight up it reduces flooding and gurgling to near zero.
The older short stem atomizer heads that came with it work well, but the newer longer stem heads work better. Both types work with either the Protank 3 or the newer Aerotank.
The Aerotank is better, but it does cost a little more.

I have owned all Kanger Tank style's. This one you must keep over 1/2 full or it will pop and gurgle. Resulting in leakage to the battery. Not a very good improvement, other than 2 wicks. Most prone to wicking. Dont understand why there's no stem on the atomizer like the other ProTanks. The atomizer comes loose every time you take it apart to fill.

I love everything about it. Metal mouth piece was a great touch, also being removable makes it super easy to clean it out.
I will probably replace this one with the next gen Protank.
